Tom is a women’s football writer at the Guardian and has been reporting on the women’s game since 2015. Initially covering the WSL for the BBC Sport website before a move to the Telegraph, he also co-authored five editions of the Women’s Football Yearbook together with the broadcaster Chris Slegg, and joined the Guardian in June 2024. This season he has sat down for exclusive interviews with influential figures including Michele Kang and the WPLL CEO Nikki Doucet. He has reported from more than 400 women’s professional fixtures and lives near Northwich with his wife and a retired racing greyhound.
